The Chocloate Tree

by Agatha James
(Argentina)

Kids love chocolates and when it comes to my boy, he just cannot control himself.

He was born in April, 2007 and it was his father who is the main culprit. He spoiled him badly and now my boy has lost three front teeth because of tooth decay but never mind, kids look pretty that way.

I used to take him to the park for Evening Park.

There he met another kid from the neighborhood and they became friends.

Everyday they would play together, learn new things and I would do my running and jogging with the mother of the other kid.

One day after coming back from the park, I heard my boy telling his father that he has found a source of chocolates and he and his park-friend will have a big chocolate tree after 3 weeks.

I just smiled and ignored the whole incidence.

Next day, i found both of them sitting on the ground and pouring water at a spot. I thought they were playing and again overlooked them.

But this became a usual practice for them and everyday they would pour their drinking water on a spot.

I asked them what's the matter but both of them smiled and ran away.

I was wondering and asked the other lady but even she did not have any clue about the whole thing.

After one whole week, my kid and his friend asked me how long it takes to grow a tree.

Then I understood their whole game.

They told me that they saw the park gardener planting a flower plant and he told them it would become a plant in 3 weeks.

The little innocent devils thought that the chocolates will also grow the same way. They even sacrificed two chocolates as the seed of their chocolate tree.

I explained to them why is it not possible to grow chocolates on the trees and halfheartedly they accepted my explanation.

Even now, whenever he goes to the park, he keeps looking at the spot expecting a chocolate tree to come out of earth.

I laugh at the mere thought of the whole incidence.

Kids are always sweet in whatever they do.

I wonder why it is not possible to remain kids all our lives.

I got to know about this wonderful website and wanted to share my experience as a mother and I am delighted to do that.

It's amazing how kids think!
by: Laura

What a clever boy that is!

For him to make that connection between planting seeds and growing trees is quite remarkable for his age.

If you want to build on his curiosity, I would suggest maybe taking him to buy seeds for a tree or plant of his choice to encourage his interest in seeds.

He'll be amazed at what really can grow from seeds.

Maybe he'll prefer fresh grown carrots to store bought chocolates!

FUNNY STORY
by: Smitha

This was a funny story that made me laugh.

Kids are very innocent and I think your son is very intelligent.

It is the small thoughts that become great discoveries later.

A curious thought in Einstein's mind became the world's most important discovery, so I hope for the best for you and your son.
