Our Little Girl's Name

Jazmine and Mommy
My daughter Jazmine Alamaria Eckerty was a surprise for my husband and I.
I was really hoping for a boy.
We found out the sex and well we had a very hard time picking names after that. The reason why is because my husband is white and I am Mexican and Puerto Rican.
I wanted a unique and elaborate name and he wanted something simple that her could pronounce.
I think whether it was a boy or girl it would be hard.
I really wanted a girl's name that started with a Y because my name started with a Y. The only two names I had and could pronounce was Yelyzaveta, which was a Ukrainian name that my husband could not pronounce one bit and the other name was Yaritza, which is Spanish but that is my brother's girlfriend's name, so it would have been a little weird.
All the other names we went through just didn't stick except for the name Jazmine; my husband loved it right when I said it.
To add my uniqueness to it I had to use a Z instead of an S. Now there were a lot of names that I would have changed a bit if needed to add something fun and unique.
One example is Victoria. I would have spelled it Viktoria instead.
Well Jazmine was the easiest name for that, lucky us because we were getting near our due date.
Now to the middle name which is completely unique.
During my pregnancy and well even now, my siblings did not live close to home. My sisters were both over sea's so I really wanted to create a name that would be memorable. My eldest sister's middle name is Marie and my other sister's is Alicia so I combined them to make Alamaria.
My sisters loved it, my husband can pronounce it, and well the name suits her perfectly.
She is a beautiful mixed skinned, dark haired, brown eyed little angel just like me and has her father's lovely curls.
She is now 3 years old and she can even say her name now.
Her name suits her perfectly!
