My Teenage Son Doesn't Have Tons Of Friends

by Anonymous
(Los Angeles, CA)

I have a 15 year old teenage son who sometimes gets sad that he doesn't have a lot of friends.

My son is a good boy and does well in school and stays out of trouble, so as a parent I am happy with what is.

I drive down our main street and see lots of teenagers dressed in black and smoking and full of tattoos and I think "Better to have a few good friends than to be accepted by the wrong type of friends".

Should I stop worrying about this, or is there something I should do about it?

Thanks for any advice you can give me on this.

Its Better

It's better to have few friends than nothing, but if he is still worried, you can try and help him.

There are a lot of after school activities that he can join. You can enroll him in sports, art, camps, and music to help him meet new people and hopefully make friends. :)
