Married Young And Loving My Pregnancy - Except the Morning Sickness

by Shelia H.
(Pennsylvania, USA)

I was married young and we immediately became pregnant.

This was my first of what would become five pregnancies between 1992 and 2006.

Each time though I had horrible morning sickness, (And horrible afternoon, evening and night sickness).

I would get very sick suddenly if I felt hungry.

Or I would get sick if I hadn't eaten and thought of certain foods.

Or I would get sick if I ate certain foods.

When I was pregnant with my second child, who is my first son, I craved cooked carrots like crazy. But every time I ate them I would have to throw up.

It was terrible.

It was like I HAD to eat them and then I would eat a few bites and run in the bathroom and chuck and come back out and eat some more.

I tried all of the hints, tips and suggestions I could.

I kept crackers everywhere, got out of bed slowly, drank warm ginger ale.

I think the best bit of advice I found was to eat several meals through the day that were much smaller than normal.

It kept me from ever feeling really hungry.

I always loved the day that I confirmed that I was indeed pregnant.

I loved hearing their tiny hearts beating inside of me.

I loved to feel them wriggle around, but the morning sickness!!!

UGH!

That I could have done without.
