How do you reward a job well done? How do you discipline when need be? Family rules can change over time to accommodate changing circumstances and family needs, so how have your rules, disciplines, expectations, and consequences changed as your children have grown older? Carousel Horse - © Tom@HK | How do you reward your children for a job well done? Do all your rewards work equally well or have you discovered some rewards that are particularly motivational for the children in your life? Share with us what works and what doesn’t. On a personal note, as long as our children live in our home, they are subject to our family rules. Our daughter Katrina is 19 years old and is in her second year at the University, and yet she still needs to help with the washing, cleaning, and looking after her brother from time to time. We reward her with continued financial support in the form of free room and board, we provide her with a car and pay for her car insurance and gas, and we give her all of the freedom she requires. She in return obeys the family rules, stays out of trouble and is a very good girl. In this case our family rules and rewards seem to be working as intended. We are aware that things can quickly change so we take nothing for granted, and we also take life one day at a time. Tell us about how YOUR family experiences are working out?
