Baby Names Can Provide A Vision For Your Baby’s Future

"If names are not correct,
language will not be in accordance with the
truth of things."

Confucius (B.C. 551-479)

Choosing the perfect baby name is an exciting part of any pregnancy.

We all enjoy thinking of and searching out the perfect baby names and the exact Meaning of Names for our new arrivals.

Some names are family heirlooms. Other names are culturally inspired, while others reflect admired traits or qualities.

What is it exactly about a baby’s name that leads us to such happy distraction?

What is there to a name that leads to so much speculation?

Share Your Favorite        Baby Names Story

Do you remember those days?

Share your story today!

Does it really matter what you name your baby or what the meaning of names are?

What is the big deal?

In the play Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare wrote

"What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."?

Imagine that. Romeo and Juliet was first printed in or about the year 1597. That was over 400 years ago, and people were even back then pondering the question:

What is in a name?

The Merriam-Webster Online dictionary defines the word ‘name’ as:

A word or phrase that constitutes the distinctive designation of a person.

So names are ways we distinguish, or set apart, through the use of a unique word, one person from the other.

To distinguish is to give prominence to someone.

In essence, it is to help someone stand out from the crowd.

It is to take special notice of someone.

Isn’t that what you want for your baby?

Of course it is.

We all wish to distinguish and give prominence to our babies from the very first moment of their lives. Finding the right name will do that and more.

Baby names can inspire and direct. They can point the mind towards a goal or a lifestyle that helps and lifts others. They can provide a spiritual window into a person’s very soul.

Many baby names are spiritually inspired.

These are names of great people found in the Bible, the Koran, and in other religious texts of faith and devotion. These names can serve as an inspiration to those who possess them, leading them to lives of higher purpose and utility to their fellow world citizens as they remember the stories of service, courage and valor of those who carried their names before them.

I can just imagine this baby wondering:

What did you name me?

Why did you name me that?

Am I going to like my name as much as you do?

Other beautiful and fitting names can be found in Greek and Roman mythology. Many of these names were inspired by the earth, fields, flowers, the majesty of the heavens, and by the great deeds done by heroes who now live on as myth and legend.

Inspiration for a baby name can be found practically anywhere. It can come from a language or culture different from our own. It can come from the kindness of a stranger whom you wish to honor with the gift of their name to your child. The list is literally endless.

So we are left to ask ourselves:

What do all great baby names have in common?

They all inspire, elevate, lift, motivate, guide, influence and enliven. The name a person is given can literally shape and mold their personality, character and outlook on life.

As you have no doubt noticed, this website does not attempt to offer you an exhaustive list of baby names for boys and baby names for girls. Other sites have done this far better than I could ever hope to.

By the way, did you know that there are over 30,000 different baby names in the world?

Wow!

It’s remarkable what you can learn just by surfing the internet these days.

Would you like to learn more about how you really feel about the many different baby names you have to choose from?

We invite you to take our Baby Names Self Test and see for yourself.

What this Preteen Thru Teenage Parenting Action Guide seeks to do is to accelerate that learning, your learning, in the realm of all things essential to parenting.

This is in fact essential to your proper perspective and synthesis of all those baby names just waiting for your consideration, as well as to so much more regarding how to be the best parent you can possibly be.

Associated with Baby Names and having a baby is the very real possibility of suffering from Postpartum Depression following your pregnancy.

It is best to learn now about such issues as Postpartum Depression, Baby Safety, and other related topics in order to safeguard yourself and your newborn baby to the fullest extent possible.

In this and in so many other ways we seek to answer the ‘why is this going to be important to my child’ factor of every essential parenting equation.

Of course you can try to get it right without additional study and preparation, but do you really feel that is the best course of action for you and the ones you love?

Once you understand the pieces of the parenting puzzle, the rest of your parenting questions and decisions just seem to fall into place.

Once you can see the ‘big picture’, the clouds of doubt are immediately replaced with clarity of thought and certainty of parental purpose.

This website is dedicated to the ‘Parental Big Picture’. Parenting P’s helps to clarify that picture for parents everywhere.

By the simple act of naming your baby you are quite literally ‘setting the course’ for another soul's existence here on earth.

And we are not just talking about any soul. It is YOUR baby’s soul we are talking about.

Your child will carry a piece of you that will live in them.

They will also carry with them the name you choose for them and give to them forever.

They will hear their name spoken every day for the rest of their lives.

Their name will affect how they think and feel about who they are, and by extension how they think and feel about the world around them.

Their name will also affect how others see, feel and respond to them in kind.

Your baby’s name will be their permanent calling card to the world. It will be a subliminal pathfinder for their life.

Seldom if ever outside of parenting are you given a greater chance to direct the course of human events.

And that direction will have a name; a name that you will decide on.

You are equal parts blessed, responsible and accountable for the name you choose and bequeath to your baby.

Relax.

Breathe.

It’s going to be just fine.

What conclusions does your mind make when you hear certain names?

What type of person is the type of person who is likely to go by that name?

Without knowing anything about a person, what would you guess about a person who has such and such a name?

How do you feel about their name when you hear it spoken?

Do you suppose that they hear their name with embarrassment or with pride?

How would you feel if you were called by that name?

The way you feel about a person, the snap assumptions we all make about people, just from hearing their names, is representative of how most people will think and react when they hear that same name.

If that name happens to be the name of your baby, then it suddenly becomes a matter of great importance and consequence, as it rightly should be.

These topics really do matter to those who desire to be the best parents they can be for their children.

Those who ignore these topics do so at their own peril, and at the peril of the ones they love.

What I am saying is that your baby, your child, your Preteen and then your Teenager, the adult that your Teenager will one day become, will be pre-judged in many instances, simply on the sound of their name.

Your child will need every advantage in life that you as their parent can provide them with. Choosing the proper name by which your child will be known is just one such advantage.

The right baby name is a vision for your child's future, and the benefits to your baby of a properly chosen name will quite literally start at birth and last a lifetime.

Remember the importance of choosing the right baby name cannot be underestimated. It is a labor of love that you owe to your baby, and to yourself.

There is a lot more parenting wisdom to share. Here is another Baby Names thought: Give your baby a name that will inspire him or her in some meaningful and significant way.

Give your baby a name that they and others will enjoy hearing at any time, for any reason, over and over again.
